why holistic interior design is more than just interior design

Peeling back the aesthetic layer of interior design, we dive deep into the abyss of a fascinating science called interior design psychology, wherein lies a complex union between interior design and human psychology. Here, we explore the relationship between our immediate environments and how our behaviour and wellbeing is impacted, positively and adversely. Through exploration and understanding of this amazing subject, we can learn to manipulate our environment so that the performance and efficiency of a space is optimised and the wellbeing of individuals improved.

the art of interior design colour harmonies

Have you ever wondered how interior designers create colour schemes for your home? Or why some colours look good together in a colour scheme but others don’t? In this interior design colour series, I explain the eight colour harmonies used in interior design, and how interior designers create colour schemes using these colour harmonies. I show you how to put colours together to create a professional looking home interior, why certain colours work whilst others clash, and why less is definitely more!

top residential interior design product selections

One of the most favourite things that I love to do is source and select your home interior design products. I am forever scouring the market for eye catching statement furniture, case-goods and lighting pieces, as well as everyday essentials and finishing touches. I love to find products which I believe tell a story and transport people to a particular place or moment in time; products that resonate with us on a core level and evoke feelings of yesteryear or the future. Hand crafted, artisanal products are my absolute weakness! Here, I showcase interior design products from high end luxury furniture suppliers to high street stores.
